The advanced soleus stretch is a good alternative to a standard calf stretch. To do this stretch, find a flat steady surface against a wall. Stand on the surface and steady yourself by placing your hands on the wall in front of you. Place your toes on your right foot on the edge of the surface and cross your left foot behind your right foot. Drop your right heel towards the floor, making sure that both of your knees are bent. Hold the stretch for 20 seconds and then switch to stretch the opposite leg.
